Destination weddings in Colombia, with a bilingual team led by Sonia Martínez. Cartagena is our specialty.
Why Cartagena
A walled city on the Caribbean, a short flight from the US.
- 1984A UNESCO World Heritage Site
The port, fortresses and colonial monuments of Cartagena were inscribed on the World Heritage List in 1984. Your ceremony can sit inside that history.
- IslandsThe Rosario Islands, by boat
The islands are part of a national park south of the city. Boats leave from Cartagena, and the ride takes about one to two hours depending on the boat.
- WarmCaribbean weather
It is warm here most of the year, so plan for heat, shade and light fabrics. We help you think through the timing for your date.
- NonstopDirect flights from the US
Cartagena has nonstop flights from Miami and Fort Lauderdale all year, plus seasonal routes from other US cities. Check current schedules with the airline.

Planning from abroad
How it works when you live far away.
- Start on WhatsApp, in English or Spanish
Tell us your date, your guest count and where you want to get married. A client based in the US wrote that the bilingual team kept communication seamless the whole way.
- We find and negotiate with vendors
We guide the key decisions with you and handle vendor negotiation on the ground, so you are not doing it across time zones.
- We design the whole celebration
Logistics, styling and food, even for multi-day events. One family had a five-day celebration in Cartagena planned and run by our team.
- You arrive and enjoy it
On the day, the team takes care of every moment without overwhelming the two of you. That is how a guest described a November 2025 wedding.

Talk to Sonia on WhatsAppQuestions couples ask
Can foreigners get legally married in Colombia?
Yes. A civil marriage can be performed before a notary in Colombia. Foreigners who do not live in Colombia are usually asked for a birth certificate and a certificate of single status, recently issued, apostilled and translated into Spanish by an official translator. The notary sets the final list, so confirm it with them early. You can read the official overview on the Ministry of Justice site (in Spanish).
Can we have a symbolic ceremony instead?
Yes. Many couples sign the legal paperwork at home and have a symbolic ceremony in Colombia. It has no legal effect, so you are free to shape it the way you want. Tell us what you have in mind.
How do our guests get there?
Most guests fly into Cartagena’s Rafael Núñez airport (CTG). There are nonstop flights from Miami and Fort Lauderdale year-round, and seasonal routes from other US cities. For the Rosario Islands, guests take a boat from Cartagena. Barú can also be reached by road.
Do you work in English?
Yes. The team is bilingual, and couples who live in the US have planned with us entirely in English.
